Es un proyecto de renovación hecho en un edifico de apartamentos diseñado y construido por Gomez Arzapalo Arquitectos. El proyecto consistió en dividir uno de los apartamentos en dos para crear un local comercial que se abriera hacía la fachada lateral del edificio que colinda con una transitada avenida de la colonia Providencia cuyo uso ha cambiado en las ultimas décadas de residencial a comercial. Dentro de los retos del proyecto nos encontramos con la necesidad de reforzar y modificar parte de la estructura del edificio para permitir a los nuevos espacios de tomar la forma deseada. Por un lado se transformó el apartamento original en un apartamento-estudio ideal para estudiantes y por el otro se logro un espacio comercial con impacto hacía la avenida.

Is a renovation project made in an apartment building designed and built by Gomez Arzapalo Arquitectos. The project consisted in dividing one of the apartments in two in order to create a commercial space that could open to the side facade of the building that sits on a busy avenue of the Providencia neighborhood in Guadalajara and whose land use has changed in the last decades from residential to commercial. One of the main challenges of the project was the need to reinforce and modify part of the structure of the building to allow the new spaces to take their desired form. On the one hand the original apartment was transformed into a studio-apartment ideal for students and on the other hand a successful commercial space with impact to the avenue was achieved.
